Split Creek Farm

The farm staff knows that survival of small farms is dependent on educating the public about rural life and the origins of their foods. Since this is a working farm and a great deal of time is spent daily with milking, feeding, animal care and processing cheese, we are only able to have visitors spend time with us on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm.

It is not necessary to schedule a time to the visit the Farm Store which is open for purchases Monday - Saturday from 10am to 6pm.

The farm itself is only open for self guided tours and visitation on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm. It is not necessary to call ahead or schedule a visit on either of these days.

The self guided tour offers you the chance to walk about the farm at your own pace and enjoy the sights of our working farm. There are several informative signs placed about to offer insight into all the aspects of our farm including the animals, processes, products, etc. Any other questions can be answered by the staff on hand that day.

Almost all of the self-guided tour takes place outdoors except for walking through the barn, visiting the Farm Store, or visiting the Split Creek Farm Museum in the old Hen House. Please keep in mind that this is a working farm and dress accordingly - clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind if they happened to get dirty.

Spring is a popular time of the year for visitation and tours as it is when the kids (baby goats) are being born.

In addition to goats the farm also has chickens, pigs, dogs, cats, guinea, and a horse named Bob. During your visit, you may pet any of the animals that come up to you or the fences.
